Holograms
Printed holograms are an excellent, eye catching
promotional and product enhancing tool available at low cost in
high volume. 3D Print and Display and Spatial Imaging have produced
many millions of holograms. The process is dedicated to mass reproduction.
A typical run would be several hundred thousand holograms. A typical
size would be one inch square. The minimum order value for holographic
labels is £4500. The minimum order value for holographic hot
stamping foil is £4000. Full pricing is available on request.
The maximum size available is 6" X 6", but this is soon
to be expanded to 18 inches square with the Lightgate Xtreme.
Holograms are mass reproduced as pressure sensitive labels (stickers) in polyester or paper and as hot stamping foil for foil blocking onto paper, board or plastic. Applications can range from bank notes to telephones - (Please see www.security-imaging.com for security applications). A wide range of effects can be achieved including spectral patterns, 3D, animation, flip images and zoom effects.
What ever the application, 3D Print and Display will have a product to suit your needs.
How it Works
3D Print and Display use an embossing process to create the holograms. First the hologram is made on a light sensitive resist plate using our unique Lightgate V4 machines. This is metalised and nickel copy made by electroforming (like chrome or silver plating). This copy is stamped into acrylic as a tiled pattern to form a recombined master shim. This is metalised and a final nickel embossing plate produced. The recombined master is analogous to a printing plate which is attached to a steel embossing roller and under heat and pressure embosses a relief structure into the polyester plastic. Adhesive is applied to the back and a release paper attached. Finally the holograms are die cut to size and wound onto rolls for either machine or hand application.
